GEORGE YAEGER IS A RETIRED DEPUTY CHIEF OF THE PHILADELPHIA FIRE DEPARTMENT. A THIRD GENERATION PHILLY FIREFIGHTER, GEORGE SERVED IN SEVERAL STAFF UNITS IN ADDITION TO WORKING AT EVERY RANK IN VARIOUS FIELD FIREFIGHTING UNITS. GEORGE HAS ALSO DONE EXTENSIVE WORK WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT’S EMPLOYEE ASISTANCE PROGRAM. HE WAS THE ASSITANT DIRECTOR OF THE FIRE ACADEMY, THE ASSISTANT CHIEF TO THE FIRE COMMISSIONER, THE HEAD OF THE TECHNICAL SUPPORT UNIT AND THE DEPARTMENT APPARATUS OFFICER DURING HIS 35 YEAR CAREER. GEORGE ALSO WAS A MEMBER OF THE UNION FIRE COMPANY OF BENSALEM DURING THE 1990′S.

 

MIKE YAEGER IS A RETIRED BATTALION CHIEF OF THE PHILADELPHIA FIRE DEPARTMENT. WHILE MIKE WAS THE CAPTAIN OF THE DEPARTMENT’S HEAVY RESCUE, A SERIES OF FIREFIGHTER SUICIDES PROMPTED MIKE TO DEVELOP A SUICIDE PREVENTION PROGRAM FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. AFTER RETIREMENT, MIKE BECAME A PEER COUNSELOR AND CONTINUES TO HELP FIREFIGHTER, POLICE AND FORMER MILITARY MEMBERS WITH PTSD ISSUES.

 

 

 

TOM SYLVESTER IS A RETIRED FIREFIGHTER OF THE PHILADELPHIA FIRE DEPARTMENT. TOM HAS WORKED IN VARIOUS BUSY ENGINE AND LADDER COMPANIES DURING HIS CAREER. TOM HAS BEEN INVLOVED WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR MANY YEARS STRESSING PEER SUPPORT AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT FOR FIRST RESPONDERS.

 

All Bucks county first responders and dispatchers are highly encouraged to attend this presentation. Along with FRAT presenting, there will be a presentation from Bucks County Human Services on how to guide those in need of help or services here in Bucks County. This night is possible due to the cooperation of both Livengrin and The Lenape Valley Foundations.

Time: 7 PM Followed by light snacks courtesy of BCCC

The Bucks County Fire Chiefs & Firefighters Association is proud to announce the Eighth Annual Scholarship Award Program.  This program is an excellent recruitment and retention tool for members of all Bucks County Fire Companies.  It will provide financial assistance on a competitive basis to members of the association.

The Bucks County Fallen Firefighters Memorial Committee has created a challenge coin to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the first memorial ceremony in 2004. The cost of each challenge coin is $10.00 and all proceeds will be donated to the Bucks County Hero’s Scholarship Fund. The Bucks County Hero’s Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to the children of firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical service personnel who are killed in the line-of-duty or permanently disabled in the line-of-duty.
